The Fifth Trust held a launch event to celebrate the completion of their new Skills Centre at Greenbanks, Barham.

Guests were able to tour the £1.6m project, which includes the Art Studio, the Bradbury Building and Lucy’s Media Suite, named in memory of one of their students. These bright and airy spaces offer a range of activities including art, print, media and crafting. The Bradbury building, the largest of the new spaces offers an exhibition space and sensory room as well as kitchen and meeting area. The new facilities are a haven for the students who were previously housed in buildings that were too small and not fit for purpose.

As well as providing these facilities for current students, the charity are now able to open their doors to new students, supporting up to 180 in total every week.

b&m were delighted to act as Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveyor and Principal Designer on this project, working alongside the project team including Hazle McCormack Young, as well as contractor Breem.

“It has been a pleasure to help the Fifth Trust deliver these much-needed new facilities” said Paul Gannaway, Director. “It is clear to see how much of an impact they have made on the students and we look forward to seeing them flourish further as they continue to embrace their new spaces”.

The Fifth Trust worked tirelessly to fundraise for their new skills centre and are still actively fundraising to continue to support the day services they provide. You can find out more about donating and supporting them here.
