The project.

Scope, the well-known disability charity, have successfully relocated their headquarters to HereEast, in the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park site. The office fit out provides Scope with open-plan agile working spaces, meeting areas and staff social spaces. There are 8 different meeting areas from smaller intimate railway carriage style meeting points to the large multi-functional area dubbed the ‘town hall’ space, that enables Scope to bring all the staff together in one room.

A diner and kitchen is provided for the 250 staff who will be based at the site and this offers seating to encourage staff to socialise during their breaks. As a disability charity, accessibility was a key part of the design. For example, the bathrooms have been designed to ‘Changing Places’ standards, this means they go further than a standard accessible bathroom and those with complex disabilities are able to use them safely and comfortably.

Their relocation also enables Scope to collaborate with the existing community on the HereEast campus, including the Global Disability Innovation Hub, which works with businesses, academia and charities to improve the lives of disabled people.

"Our new office at Here East isn't just about new desks and a new location. It's a fundamental change in how we work together."

Mark Atkinson, Chief Executive of Scope
