The project.
Set within the iconic Battersea Power Station development, RNLT Battersea marks the arrival of Renault’s first UK compact urban concept store. A bold new retail model designed to reshape how automotive brands connect with customers in city-centre destinations.
Far removed from the traditional dealership experience, the new space has been created as an immersive retail and lifestyle environment where visitors can engage with Renault’s latest electric vehicle offering in a more relaxed, contemporary and experience-led setting. Positioned amongst some of London’s most recognisable retail and leisure brands, the project reflects the changing face of automotive retail, where flexibility, customer interaction and brand experience are becoming increasingly important.
The Battersea launch also provided the backdrop for showcasing the highly anticipated Renault 5 Turbo Concept, placing additional importance on programme certainty and delivery. With a rapid turnaround required, the project team worked collaboratively to transform the space within a live operational environment while maintaining the quality and finish expected within one of the capital’s most prestigious regeneration schemes.

Delivering Within a Landmark Destination
Working within Battersea Power Station brought a unique set of challenges. As one of London’s most high-profile mixed-use developments, the estate operates within strict logistical and operational requirements, demanding close coordination between all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
b&m acted as both Contract Administrator and Quantity Surveyor on the scheme, supporting Renault Retail Group through every stage of delivery. Working alongside Kennedy Design and Chiltern Group, our team provided commercial management and contractual oversight while helping maintain momentum across an accelerated programme.
Significant liaison with the Battersea Power Station management team was required to coordinate access, deliveries and construction activity within the busy retail environment. Through proactive communication and collaborative working, the project was successfully delivered within budget and in line with the client’s ambitious launch programme.

More Than a Showroom
The completed RNLT Battersea space has been designed to feel more aligned with premium retail than a conventional automotive showroom. Clean architectural detailing, integrated digital engagement and flexible display areas combine to create an environment that is modern, welcoming and distinctly urban in character.
Importantly, the project also embraced the wider cultural identity of Battersea itself. During the works, local artists were commissioned to decorate the site hoarding, helping the temporary construction presence contribute positively to the surrounding environment and maintain the creative energy associated with the wider Battersea Power Station development.
The result is a retail destination that not only showcases Renault’s future-focused approach to electric mobility, but also demonstrates how automotive brands are evolving to meet changing customer expectations within some of the UK’s most vibrant urban locations.
