The project.
Located within the heart of Canterbury, we worked with a local architect to provide cost planning for the redevelopment of three city centre sites into a new quarter that will include residential, retail and public realm. Our work formed part of the successful planning application. The project is being driven by the vacation of the major department store. Once departed, the empty buildings will prove impractical for a single retailer to take on, therefore these plans to bring a new vibrant retail offering have been developed.
Once complete, the scheme will offer 12 new retail units, better sized and suited for today’s high street market as well as 74 residential apartments above the ground floor shops. Several of the existing buildings are Grade II listed, the site is within a conservation area and adjacent a World Heritage Site.
