In March, Canterbury Rugby Club organised and hosted the East Kent Emerging Schools Rugby 7’s Tournament.  The three-day event included under12’s, under14’s and under16’s teams representing schools from the region.

There was an incredible turnout for the tournament, with 300 students in attendance from 14 local secondary schools.

b&m work in partnership with CFRC as part of their local community program and our support helps the team to bring rugby to different schools in the area.  We are particularly proud to be part of an initiative to bring the sport to students that might not have felt that rugby was for them and with Alice leading the way the tournament numbers the event included over 50 girls from the various schools.

Across 3 days, all the students engaged in high level training from RFU qualified coaches and Canterbury players. Before putting their skills to the test in a tournament across the schools.

An incredible effort and display of character shown by all and Paul Duffy from b&m was lucky enough to watch a few games from the under16’s tournament and present the trophy to the winning boys and girls teams.

Well done CRFC for organising such a great event and we look forward to being part of the ongoing rugby community.
