The project.

This regeneration project, located adjacent the Westgate Towers in Canterbury, will see the former Barretts Land Rover showroom on Pound Lane and St Peter’s Street replaced with new studio apartments. The new development is being delivered in two phases that once complete, will provide more than 150 apartments across 4 blocks once completed.

This part of the project formed the first phase and was completed in June 2021. The existing building has been renovated and the flats have been delivered on the first and second floor and fronting onto and offering views of the bustling high street. The sleek and modern units come partially furnished, offering white goods and wifi as part of the package to renters.

Alongside this and later on in the development, new ancillary space will be created on the ground floor of the existing building facing Pound Lane. We’ve worked closely with the developer and chosen contractor in the early stages to manage the development of the project & budget from RIBA 2 to RIBA 4.

The development will have landscaping that loops around the inner area of development, providing courtyard style external space for residents. A new road and frontage off Pound Lane will be constructed, which will connect the site to Westgate Hall Road and create a new street scene. The development has been sensitively designed to sit adjacent to the existing buildings and houses on St Peter’s Street and Pound Lane.
