The project.

Located in Ashford, Orchard Farm is a unique self-build development – currently the largest of its kind in the whole of Kent. The 122 self-build site will be accented with communal courtyards, a central park, cycling routes and orchard tree-lined streets. 1.23 hectares of the site will be dedicated to open spaces giving the development an airy feel.

Self-builds give buyers the freedom to design the layout of their home inside whilst choosing how it will look externally. The first phase will consist of 2-5 bedroom houses and apartments. Most of these will be fully serviced plots, whilst 20% will be affordable shared-ownership dwellings, with 10% being affordable rented property.

With careful consideration for the existing environment the site is designed to make the best use of its green infrastructure on site whilst sensitively enhancing the areas ecology and nature. More specifically, the nutrient neutrality issue has been considered with the planned inclusion of floating wetlands.

Plans for the first 25 homes have been submitted to Ashford Borough Council and the rest will be progressively released.
