The project.

The Herne Bay site was previously home to the iconic Bun Penny Pub which opened in 1899, after a devastating fire in 2011 the pub was left in a state of disrepair until 2014 when it was purchased by our client.

Designed to be visually appealing and make the most of its location, the new Bun Penny offers 14 high specification two and three bedroom homes. Thanks to their generous footprint, the apartments appeal to families and those looking to downsize and are flexible in their layouts due to underfloor heating. The apartments offer large open plan living space that features floor to ceiling windows offering unparalleled views overlooking the sea.

Several of the apartments also offer balconies off the open plan area and to the rear of the property, providing the ideal spaces for entertaining and relaxing. Each apartment has allocated parking and a large communal garden has been provided at the front to develop a community feel.

Kent County Council’s No Use Empty (NUE) Scheme provided funding to assist with the regeneration project. The project has successfully helped kick-start the regeneration of Herne Bay sea front, being the first of many development projects to get underway.
