Planners at Canterbury City Council last night gave the green light to an ambitious redevelopment plan in the heart of Canterbury.
The Guildhall Quarter plans, developed by Clague Architects, will bring a new life and focus onto this area of the city, which will lose the anchor Debenhams store on January 19th.
We provided quantity surveying services on the £25m scheme which will see the Debenhams and former Cotswold Outdoor store transformed into new retail and housing.
12 new retail units of varying sizes will be created and 74 apartments will be developed on the upper levels of the existing Debenhams buildings.
The current department store located on the High Street, Guildhall Street, the Buttermarket and Mercery Lane will be subdivided into separate retail units to provide more modern and fit for purpose retail premises.
