We are pleased to announce that we have been appointed to work alongside The Land Trust and its partners and stakeholders to deliver the regeneration and conservation of Fort Burgoyne.
Located in Dover, near Dover Castle, Fort Burgoyne is a historic monument that has a rich history in the defence of the Kent coastline and the UK. Upon acquisition of the Fort and the surrounding area in 2014, the Land Trust recognised the area required restoration to safeguard its future.
A three-year conservation programme is now underway that will seek to improve the condition of the Fort whilst improving public access and making it more readily available for community use.
Works being undertaken during this programme include;
• Stabilization and conservation works
• Re-imaging of the West Wing Battery
• Artist led community engagement
Fort Burgoyne is part of the Pioneering Places East Kent project, which in turn is part of the Great Place Scheme. Pioneering Places East Kent is working to make East Kent a great place to be by exploring heritage, developing civic pride and connecting communities and artists. Four projects across East Kent are being led by organisations like the Land Trust, to bring change to the area, with the other projects located in Canterbury, Folkestone and Ramsgate.
We are providing Quantity Surveying services to the Trust and we are delighted to be part of the consultant team appointed this year to take this project forward.
