This week saw the RICS South East Regional Awards announced, at a gala dinner held at Kassam Stadium, home of Oxford United FC.

B&M hosted a table with guests from Clague, Jenner and the Royal British Legion Industries. With a great evening hosted by Fred Dinenage the winners of the seven categories were announced.

The new RBLI Veterans Accommodation, designed by architects Clague and built by Jenner, was shortlisted in the Residential category. Situated in Aylesford, in Kent the scheme comprises of 24 one and two-bedroom homes for the sick and wounded veterans and their families.

This much needed project provided accommodation for those who are not in need of care but require specialist facilities.

The development features a stunning landscaped centrepiece. Originally designed by Jo Thompson for the 2016 Chelsea Flower Show ‘The Chelsea Barracks Garden’ was re-established within this development providing a tranquil space for relaxation, reflection and recuperation.

B&M provided Quantity Surveying services for the scheme.

The new Barton Court Grammar School extension designed by Clague and built by Jenner was also shortlisted in the Community Benefit category.

This brand-new education building includes various beneficial facilities, including a replacement dining hall which is larger than the previous, to give a higher capacity. The dining hall is also fitted with acoustic ceiling baffles to accommodate for the additional noise. The previous dining area has since been converted into a multi functional hall.

Also included in the new build are seven additional mathematics classrooms, three science laboratories, offices, ancillary areas and an up to date replacement kitchen.

B&M provided Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent and Clerk of Works services for this scheme.
