For over 40 years, b&m has believed that the future of the built environment depends on the people coming through it. This National Apprenticeship Week 2026, we’re proud to celebrate our continued commitment to supporting, nurturing and championing the next generation of construction professionals.

Today, we’re delighted to have four apprentices as part of the b&m team – each bringing curiosity, fresh thinking and energy to our projects. They’re not just learning the technical side of the job; they’re learning what it really means to work the b&m way.

People First. Always.

At b&m, people are at the heart of everything we do. Apprentices are no exception. From day one, they are supported, encouraged and given real responsibility; because we believe learning happens best when people feel trusted and valued. We invest time in mentoring, training and development, ensuring every apprentice feels part of the team and confident in their future.

Learning Through Collaboration

Apprentices at b&m work alongside experienced surveyors/ project managers, learning through collaboration and on the job experience. By being involved in live projects, they see first-hand how teamwork, communication and shared problem-solving deliver better outcomes for clients and communities.

Growing Talent for the Long Term

Growth is one of our core values – not just for the business, but for our people. Many of our senior team members started their careers through non-traditional routes, and that experience shapes how we support those following in their footsteps. Apprenticeships aren’t just a pathway into the industry; they’re a pathway to a long, fulfilling career.

Expertise, Shared

We’re proud of our technical expertise and deep knowledge of the built environment, and we see it as our responsibility to pass that on. By sharing skills, experience and lessons learned over decades, we help apprentices develop into confident professionals who will help shape a more sustainable, collaborative and forward-thinking industry.

Partnership That Goes Beyond Projects

Supporting apprentices is part of our wider commitment to partnership; with our people, our clients and the communities we serve. By investing in future talent, we’re helping to create a stronger industry for generations to come.

This National Apprenticeships Week, we celebrate our apprentices, our mentors, and the many individuals over the last 40 years who started their journey at b&m. The future of construction is bright, and we’re proud to be building it together.
