We are incredibly excited to announce our Charity of the Year – Making Miracles. A Kent-based birth trauma and baby bereavement care charity, Making Miracles has been providing compassionate care and support for families affected by birth trauma and grief for a decade.
At b&m, our work focuses on the community. Working on projects which enhance the lives of the local population in all manner of ways, it is one of our core beliefs that we provide long-lasting benefits for all. By choosing a Charity of the Year each year, we are able to give more back to the community, supporting a well-deserved cause and doing every bit we can to further improve the lives of the people that support us.
There are so many worthy contenders for our Charity of the Year, and after serious consideration from all of our team, we decided that the work Making Miracles does is so profound and important, we’d be honoured to support them further. Founded by Kelly Wells after experiencing a highly traumatic pregnancy and birth experience herself, Making Miracles has flourished since its creation and continues to provide life-changing support to those who need it most.
Working with thousands of grieving families, the Making Miracles team has also provided training to NHS staff on how to best communicate with struggling or grieving parents, and given important advice surrounding baby loss. They also deliver lectures and provide training for Universities, charities, and organisations, spreading information and awareness on a subject that can make so many feel alone.
In previous years, we have been able to help raise not only funds, but vital awareness on the cause of our chosen Charity of the Year. As a team, we look forward to being able to work alongside Making Miracles to aid them in their mission to support even more families throughout the community.
b&m director, Paul Gannaway, says, “We are eager to begin organising engaging fundraising events which we hope will contribute to Making Mircale’s critical work. Our decision to choose them for our Charity of the Year was driven by their impactful work in the local and wider community, helping families through such a vulnerable time. We look forward to supporting them and watching them continue to grow.”
