The Leeds office, under the leadership of our Associate Director Mark Fennell, embodies b&m’s commitment to both professional excellence and social responsibility. Beyond his role in steering our projects in the North, Mark is also an ambassador for LandAid, a charity on a mission to end youth homelessness in the UK. His work with LandAid gives our Leeds team a powerful way to contribute to the well-being of vulnerable young people, extending the impact of our organisation beyond the built environment and into the communities we serve.
LandAid plays a vital role in addressing youth homelessness by funding projects that create safe, affordable housing. But their mission goes further: they aim to give young people the skills, support, and stability they need to build a future. This includes funding emergency housing and transitional projects while also supporting long-term accommodation solutions. By partnering with a network of charities and local service providers, LandAid ensures that these young people receive more than just a roof over their heads. Their holistic approach provides wrap-around services like education, employment training, and mental health support—helping young people gain independence and stability.
Mark’s role as a LandAid ambassador aligns deeply with b&m’s People First and Partnership values. It allows us to support LandAid’s efforts through fundraising, advocacy, and active participation, fostering a culture of social responsibility within our Leeds office and beyond. LandAid also brings the property industry together, creating campaigns and events that raise awareness and funds, empowering professionals like Mark and organisations like ours to have a direct, positive impact on young lives.
At b&m, we believe in creating more than just buildings; we strive to create lasting change. By supporting LandAid’s vision, we stand with the next generation, working toward a future where no young person in the UK has to face homelessness.
This also resonates with our commitment to being a B Corp Certified company, and the UN Social Development Goals, specifically No Poverty and Zero Hunger.
