B&M have become members of a new network focused on helping small and medium business in the construction and built environment sector. I-Construct was officially launched in December 2020 and B&M were pleased to be one of the early adopters of the new initiative.

Focused on innovation, networking and new business opportunities, I-Construct offers members three different types of support to help develop their businesses. These are grant funding, 1-2-1 mentoring and access to a supply chain network of new business opportunities.

I-Construct is led by the Haven Gateway Partnership and delivered with support from project partners Braintree District Council, BRE, Colchester Institute and Daedalus Environmental. It is part-funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

B&M joined I-Construct as their ethos and values align well with our own. Their vision to bring innovation forward in the industry and back growth of SMEs aligns with our aims to collaborate, innovate and deliver successful projects through modernisation and technology.

I-Construct have also developed a new Innovation Hub which will be open to members from 2021 and will be used to host networking events, talks by experts and product launches.

B&M have already taken up the opportunities the network provides, and we’re pleased to announce that we have been awarded £1,300 in grant funding to purchase a new product that will help digitalise one of our processes. We’ll be sharing more on this new project once its underway.

Steph Harris, Practice Manager said: “Our membership of I-Construct is going to bring us new and exciting opportunities as well as giving us the ability to implement an innovative project within the business. We’re pleased to be a member of the network and look forward to meeting other members later in the year”.

Membership of the I-Construct Network is free, you can find out about eligibility and the support they offer at www.i-construct.org.uk or please call and speak to Steph for more information on our experience so far.
