B&M are delighted to have been a Finalist at this year’s Construction News Awards 2020.
The Construction News Awards 2020 seek to recognise the best in the industry, celebrating the people, pride and passion shown over the last 12 months. The awards were held virtually and presented by comedian Tom Allen and the Construction News Team.
We were shortlisted in the Consultancy of the Year category which looked for consultancies who could evidence business success and development, quality of work and how it was outperforming it peers. 2019 proved to be an excellent year for B&M and one that fitted this brief exactly. We exceeded our turnover prediction for the year, solidifying growth in the business, we substantially increased the average cost of project we worked on, strengthened our portfolio and improved our service offering.
We also continued our commitment to being an Employer of Choice. Our staff are our USP and we have worked hard to foster an environment focused on wellbeing, growth and engagement. 40% of our staff are currently in formal learning and development, with this percentage growing when informal learning is included.
Sadly, we did not pick up the overall award in this category, however, on being shortlisted, Andrew Walker, Director, said “Thank you to Construction News for shortlisting us in the Consultancy of the Year category amongst such good company. We want to thank our staff for embracing our values and mission and delivering the best possible service to our clients day in and day out. It is this approach that continues to make B&M a success”.
For us, being recognised with this shortlisting is an achievement in itself and we’re very grateful to the judges for recognising a long-standing SME such as ourselves. As we head into our 35th year, we continue to follow our mission of ‘facilitating successful projects for our clients’ via the exemplar service we provide and look forward to be part of such an exciting time for the industry.
